EURO-CITIZENS DIRECTORY 2020 – Video of the Handover Ceremony to Fondation Jean Monnet pour l’Europe (0ct. 22nd, 2020)

Want to relive these historic moments of the handing over of the directory to the Fondation Jean Monnet pour l’Europe, the moment you enter European History into the Franck Biancheri fonds as living memory of his works? Here is the video montage of this very moving event organised by the Franck Biancheri Heritage Community.

A Tribute to the genius of a European generation. Enjoy!

«We, Friends of Franck Biancheri, solemnly hand over to Fondation Jean Monnet for Europe this Directory, a sample of the generation of Euro-Citizens which rose in the 80s, aware that Europe was no longer a project but a political reality.
Like butterflies, these weak players flapped their wings in unisson. Whatever winds of history blew against them, the waves they sent transformed reality… the waves they sent are still transforming reality.
Their history is worth digging into.» (Marie-Hélène Caillol, 22/10/2020)

On October 22nd, 2020, the Association of the Friends of Franck Biancheri and the Laboratoire Européen d’Anticipation Politique (LEAP) had the honor of solemnly handing over to the Fondation Jean Monnet pour l’Europe (FJME) the Euro-Citizens Directory 2020 bringing into the fonds housing the archives of Franck Biancheri the living memory of his fellows.

The preface to the directory signed by Marie-Hélène Caillol, president of the AAFB and LEAP, invites you to understand the meaning and importance of this approach which pays tribute to a whole generation of European citizens, the Euro-citizens, the citizens of Europe.

With this video, we invite you to discover the strong and very moving moments of this ceremony, which brought together more than 70 people, members of the directory, some of whom were together for the first time in a long time on the same stage. Interspersed with testimonies on the different stages of their activism, animated in sound and images by the artist Pascale Kaparis, the passage of the historical witness took place between Paris and Lausanne, but also Seville, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Brussels, Lisbon, London… and beyond, Brazil, the United States, Russia… The Franck Biancheri networks inscribe European history in time and space.

In the second part of this ceremony, the Franck Biancheri networks organized an online debate, the report has been published on LEAP2040 “What role – if any – for our generation in this new chapter of European history?
