Organising the first Trans-European Election: Our campaign addressing the European Leaders [Press release – December 7, 2016]

This open letter entitled “Countering the British “Coup d’Etats” with a European democratic blow – Towards a first real trans-European electionand edited by the Franck Biancheri Network, was sent by mail on 25th of November 2016 to the European Leaders listed below (National Heads of States and Heads of Governments, Foreign and European Affairs Ministers, Heads of European Institutions).

The Franck Biancheri Network gathers the friends and road-companions of Franck Biancheri, who passed away on October 30, 2012. He was the founder of AEGEE-Europe and father of the Erasmus Programme. In the name of his relentless struggle for European democratization facing the collapse of the European system, we, powerless European citizens, have decided to take up the challenge. Let us take our European destiny in our hands!

The next step will be YOURS! With a petition we are going to broadcast soon within the European social networks, we kindly invite you to join us in order to give democracy a chance: the citizens are Europe’s driving force so let’s decide altogether what is the Europe we want. A trans-European election is the only simple solution to show that EU is turning its face to its citizens … and it is feasible!

We do hope our political leaders will understand the stakes for the future of Europe, whilst we all have to face today the British coup, the Brexit.
