Reissue of the book "The Emergence of Eurocitizens"Mercredi 21 Septembre 2011
I've decided to put in free internet access this book that I wrote in 1995 entitled "The Emergence of Eurocitizens". Since that date it had been circulating in paper version or unproperly scanned among students. It has now been rescanned and PDF formatted in a better quality and is available from now on from this webpage.
This book describes, via the adventure of the creation and first years of development of the first large European student network AEGEE-Europe, the European context in the years 1984-1988. First rebirth of the European project, conditions in which Erasmus was adopted, concrete advises and cases to build and manage large European student networks and projects,... it tells the story of the pionneers of these 2 million people who now represent the "Erasmus generations". At a time when the youth of our continent seem to be willing to make themselves heard politically speaking, it can always prove a useful tool. It is also a reminder of the fact that when the youth no longer recognize themselves in the present and future that the generations above propose them, then, rather than indignify themselves, they should roll up their sleeves and strive to open their own road towards the future they long for. If this little book has any value of testimony, then it should be this: a determined bunch of 25-year-olds can contribute to orientate the history of a continent and the future of millions of youngsters coming after them! It was true yesterday. It is true today! Downloadable hereafter
